Introducing CatEye '09 - UR on Photo Booth like it's 2009

CatEye '09 runs on all Intel and Apple Silicon Macs manufactured since 2007.

We recommend installing each group of effects (individual PKG file) one at a time and then running CatEye '09 after each installation.

The applications are sandboxed and do not track or otherwise exfiltrate data from your machine(s).

There are no licensing keys or activations. Just drag-install and go.

CatEye '09 should work with 3rd party Quartz Composer F/X developed between 2007-2013. YMMV.

VirtualEyez 2.64 Virtual Microphone | macOS | Zoom and Skype | Monterey | Apple Silicon

UPDATE: We have determined that the included CoreAudio drivers do not work on current versions of macOS with Apple Silicon and are working on an update. Installations on Intel machines through Catalina are not affected.

We have posted a major update to VirtualEyez - 2.64 - which addresses compatibility with Monterey, Big Sur, and Apple Silicon. The new version also includes audio routing with a virtual microphone driver that allows both audio and video to be switched and streamed.

Compatibility: All modern Mac computers manufactured since 2008 running Mountain Lion 10.8 or later.

Once again we are releasing two versions, one for the hardened runtime (notarized by Apple) and one for Gatekeeper (pre-notarization). Direct links here:

FaceTime HD Camera VDIG for DotMatrix and CamCamX (includes Mac App Store versions)

We've updated our FaceTime HD VDIG camera driver to support all versions of MacOS X (10.8-10.14) that are compatible with 32-bit Apps and QuickTime Player(tm) compatible camera drivers. In particular, these drivers should enable camera access for DotMatrix FREE which was in the Top 100 free Graphic Design apps on the Mac App Store for almost 10 years.
We have lots of Macs that can run 10.14 Mojave but not Catalina and we assume you do as well!

Although you can install the drivers on Catalina and Big Sur, they will be non-functional.

VirtualEyez 2.1.642 Update for Catalina & Mojave

We have posted an update to VirtualEyez - 2.1.642 - which addresses the need to grant camera and screen recording permissions under Mojave, Catalina and Big Sur. Supported on Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina. We're still working on the Big Sur problems, which appear to be related to OpenGL rendering. It may be these bugs are addressed by a future Big Sur update.

CatEye on Apple Silicon M1

CatEye is now verified and working with Photo Booth on the Apple Silicon M1 version of Big Sur.

We recommend installing each group of effects (individual PKG file) one at a time and then running Photo Booth after each addition.

NOTE: It is recommended that you delete any unused effects from the /LibraryCompositions folder as Photo Booth loads all plug-ins at launch.

Keep in mind that deleting the CatEye files is quite easy (simply drag unwanted F/X to the trash).

BIG SUR:INTEL - We have identified an issue with VirtualEyez 2.1.641 on Big Sur. High Sierra or Catalina is recommended.

Today we have released version 2.1.641 of VirtualEyez, our 8-input 1280x720p 30fps live video switcher with greenscreen removal (keying) and screencasting/grabbing. In this version we have vastly improved support for high-power multi-core Macs and upped the frame rate from 24fps to 30fps for livestreaming to Twitch.tv and other gaming services.

FEATURES INCLUDE:

Pencast or Screencast from your lightning- or USB-C-connected iPad.
Screencast from any/multiple running macOS Applications.
Connect up to 8 external cameras.
Color controls and keying on every channel, including grabbed screen images.
Low-latency and low CPU usage for integration with existing livestreaming workflows.

The included app is an Apple Notarized fat 32/64-bit binary with drivers for both QuickTime VDIG and CoreMediaIO (AVFoundation). The latter works with the modern macOS and the former compatible with any crusty old QuickTime(tm) compatible webcam apps that you know and love.

System requirements are any Intel-based Mac running 10.8, 10.9, 10.10, 10.11, 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 or 10.15 Catalina. In other words, any Mac you have purchased in the last decade.
